About Vernicle

Where Scientific Discipline Meets Practical Intelligence

We approach artificial intelligence the way a naturalist approaches a specimen — with patience, precision, and genuine curiosity about the underlying structure.

Our Story

Built on Careful Observation

Vernicle was founded in Singapore with a simple conviction: that the most valuable AI work happens when you take the time to understand the system you are studying before reaching for a model. Too many engagements begin with a technique in search of a problem. We start the other way around.

Our founders came from backgrounds in computational biology, infrastructure engineering, and statistical research. They had each seen, independently, how much value could be unlocked when machine learning was applied with the same discipline that characterises good experimental science — clearly stated hypotheses, careful validation, and honest reporting of what the data actually shows.

The name "Vernicle" draws from the tradition of careful documentation — an imprint that captures the essential character of its subject. That is what we aim to do with data: reveal its underlying patterns faithfully, without embellishment, and translate those patterns into decisions your team can act on with confidence.

Today, Vernicle works with research institutions, biotech firms, operations teams, and facility managers across the Asia-Pacific region. Our Singapore base places us at a crossroads of scientific research and commercial innovation, and we draw energy from both.

Our Team

The People Behind the Practice

LT

Lim Tze Wei

Principal Consultant

Formerly with A*STAR's Bioinformatics Institute, Tze Wei leads our biological data analysis practice and oversees model validation across all engagements.

RN

Radhika Nair

Systems Architect

With a background in distributed systems and operations research, Radhika designs our intelligent alerting frameworks and oversees real-time data integration.

DA

Daniel Ang

Simulation Lead

Daniel brings over a decade of experience in numerical modelling and digital twin development, having previously worked in facilities management and energy infrastructure.

How We Work

Quality Standards & Protocols

Reproducible Methods

Every pipeline and model we deliver includes version-controlled code, documented parameters, and validation protocols that your team can independently reproduce.

Data Protection

We comply with Singapore's PDPA and maintain encryption standards for data at rest and in transit. NDAs and data processing agreements are standard for every engagement.

Statistical Rigour

Our work is grounded in sound statistical practice. We report confidence intervals, perform cross-validation, and are transparent about the limitations of every model.

Clear Documentation

Deliverables include comprehensive methodology documentation, user guides, and technical specifications — so your team is never left guessing how something works.

Iterative Review

We build in regular checkpoints throughout each project, sharing progress and inviting feedback so the final output reflects your priorities and domain knowledge.

Knowledge Transfer

We do not build black boxes. Every engagement includes training sessions and handover materials designed to give your team full ownership and understanding of the delivered solution.

What Guides Us

Our Values in Practice

Artificial intelligence consulting, at its core, is an exercise in translation — taking raw signals from complex datasets and turning them into language that informs better decisions. At Vernicle, we hold ourselves to a standard of honesty in that translation. If the data does not support a conclusion, we say so. If a simpler model outperforms a complex one, we recommend the simpler path. Our role is to serve clarity, not complexity.

Singapore's position as a hub for biomedical research, logistics, and smart infrastructure gives us a rich and varied landscape to work within. We are fortunate to collaborate with teams whose domain expertise runs deep — in genomics labs at Biopolis, in operations centres monitoring distributed infrastructure, and in planning offices modelling the future of urban environments. These collaborations make our work stronger, and we approach each one with the respect it deserves.

We believe that good AI work should leave an organisation more capable than it was before — not dependent on a consultant. That is why knowledge transfer is woven into every engagement, and why we invest heavily in documentation and training. When a project ends, your team should feel equipped to maintain, adapt, and extend what we have built together.
